New Update On JHS, Primary & KG Academic Calendar 2023

It may be recalled that the Ministerial Committee on School Calendar issued a calendar for the current academic year indicating that Kindergarten to Junior High School were to be based on the Semester System.
Following the directives to commence the semester system, the Ministry has received representation from a section of the public and key educational stakeholders to reinstate the Trimester system.
After further consultation on the issue, the Honourable Minister for Education has directed that the calendar for Kindergarten to Junior High School for the current academic year should revert to the trimester system.
Consequently, the dates for the various school terms for kindergarten to junior High school are as follows:

3rd October, 2023 – 21st December, 2023 (In school)
22nd December 2023–9th January 2024 (Vacation)
2nd TERM
9th January 2024 – 11th April 2024 (In School)
12th April 2024 – 29th April 2024 (Vacation)
3rd TERM
30th April 2024–25th July 2024
