Candidates who wish to apply for the 2023 admission at the Nursing and Midwifery Training Colleges can see below the cut-off points/grade for 2024/2025.

The Nursing programmes are in two forms for the Direct Entry (using SSSCE or WASSCE) Programmes. These include Diploma and Certificates programme.

Diploma Programmes

Diploma Programmes Diploma Nursing programmes offered in Health Training Institutions are as follows:

Registered General Nursing
Registered Mental Nursing 3
Registered Midwifery (Females only)
Registered Community Health Nursing

For a candidate to be able to apply for a diploma course, he or she must have obtained an aggregate score of thirty (30) or better in six subjects, comprising 3 core and 3 elective subjects, Including Credits (A1 – C6) in three Core Subjects, i.e., English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science, and Credits (A1 – C6) in three Elective Subjects.

Certificates Programmes

Nurse Assitant Clinical
Nurse Assistant Preventive
Environmental Health Assistant

A cutoff aggregate score of Forty-Eight (48) or better in six (6) subjects, comprising three (3) core and three (3) elective subjects with AT LEAST credits (A1-E8) in three (3) core subjects, i.e., English, Mathematics and Integrated Science. candidate must also have at least passes (A1-E8) in three (3) Elective subjects.

What course can one offer with Grade D7?

Candidates with Grade D7 can only apply for a certificate course/programme at any of the Nursing training colleges across the nation. He or she will not be able to offer diploma courses/programmes since the system has been programmed to accept students with Grade A1 – C6.

What course can one offer with Grade E8?

Applicants who have E8 in any of the three Core subjects listed above can only apply for a certificate course at the Health training institution. Such an applicant will not be able to offer a diploma course since the cut-off grade for the diploma course is A1 – C6.

Can a Business Student offer a Diploma Course?

Business students who want to offer a Diploma course must have Elective maths, economics, and French as part of their electives. Business students who offer cost Accounting will have the option to apply for only a certificate course.
