The University for Development Studies, UDS Cut-Off Points for Admissions into various degree programmes for the 2025/2026 academic year is out. Prospective applicants can use the UDS Admission requirements as a guideline to readily choose the program to get admitted into the university.

BSc Dietetics programme
Admission for the BSc Dietetics programme is very competitive. Aggregate scores of 14 or less for WASSCE applicants and 12 or less for SSSCE applicants are required for admission. Home Economics applicants with aggregate 9 will be considered for admission if they did Food and Nutrition and Biology or Chemistry as part of their elective subjects.
4-Year Bsc Community Nutrition Degree Programme
Admission for the BSc Community Nutrition programme is very competitive. Aggregate scores of 14 or less for WASSCE applicants and 12 or less for SSSCE applicants are required for admission. Home Economics applicants with aggregate 10 will be considered for admission if they did Food and Nutrition and Biology or Chemistry as part of their elective subjects.
Medical Imaging Technology (MIT)
Minimum qualifications for admission at various entry levels into the programme include the following:
WASSCE Candidates Applicants must have credit passes (A1-C6) in three core subjects: English Language,
Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science plus three elective subjects: Biology, Physics and Chemistry (or Mathematics).
SSCE Candidates
Applicants must have passes (A-D) in three core subjects: English Language, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science plus three elective subjects: Biology, Physics and Chemistry (or Mathematics).
Students will be admitted into the following categories with the specified cut-off aggregates:
- WASSCE Regular – aggregates 6-11
- WASSCE Ghanaian Fee-Paying – aggregates 12-16
- Ghanaian Fee-Paying (Top-Up) – Second Class Lower or Better at Diploma,
HND or Degree level
Doctor of Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS.D)
Applicants to the 6-Year Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science (MLS.D) degree must have either
- Credit in the THREE WASSCE/SSCE core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credits in THREE WASSCE electives: Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics). SSSCE APPLICANTS WITH AGGREGATE 12 OR BETTER shall enter year One. All prospective applicants are expected to pass entrance examination and interview to be admitted. Top-Up Programme for 4 -Years into MLS.D (Fee Paying only, Weekend option available)
- Graduates of allied disciplines such as Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, etc. with a good first degree, Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Diploma may enter the Programme in Year THREE after passing an assessment examination and interview
Students will be admitted into the following categories with the specified cut-off aggregates:
- WASSCE Regular – aggregates 6-12
- Ghanaian Fee-Paying (Top-Up) (Must have Second Class Upper or Better at
Diploma, HND or Degree level
6-Year Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Programme
The following qualifications are accepted for entry:
- Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations or West Africa Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE/WASSCE) with three credit passes in English Language, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science, plus credit passes in two elective courses including Chemistry and Biology and any one of Physics or Elective Mathematics.
- Equivalences of the SSSCE/WASSCE such as:
i. GCE (Cambridge)- ‘A’ levels
ii. IGCSE (Cambridge)- ‘A’ Levels
iii. Baccalaureate (French)
iv. International Baccalaureate (IB)
v. American High School Grade-Grade 12 and 13 examinations
vi. Any other external qualifications, which have equivalences to the SSSCE/WASSCE as determined by the National Accreditation Board. - Higher National Diploma in Dispensing Technology – with a minimum of a second-class upper division
Category B: Graduate entry - Graduates with a good first degree in allied disciplines (eg. Anatomy, Community Nutrition, Microbiology, Nursing, Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology)
- Short-listed applicants would be invited to take a written entry examination and an interview.
- Applicants must obtain at least 50% in both the assessment examinations and
interviews to be admitted into the programme.
Bachelor of Dental Surgery Programme
Aggregate 9 is required for admission to the BDS programme
- Entrance Examination/Interview:
- Applicants with aggregate 6-9 will be shortlisted for an entrance examination and interview
Certificate in Community Development Studies
With a minimum grade C6 in three core and three elective subjects for regular WASSCE applicants, consideration should be given to those who meet the general admission requirement of aggregate 36 or better. All other categories of applicants who meet the general requirements specified above should be admitted.
