University of South Africa (Unisa) 2020 Merit Bursaries

Are you a student studying at the university of south Africa and facing financial problems? If yes then make sure to that this opportunity. The university of south Africa has opened an invitation for students to apply for the 2020 merit Bursary. Prospective applicants are expected to meet the following requirements before they can enjoy this opportunity. Below are some of the conditions for the bursary.   • Students must have obtained at least 75% and above average in their previous year of study
  • Financially needy and the missing middle students qualify to be considered for the bursary (capped an annual family income of R600 000)
  • Students must register for a maximum of five (5) modules per Semester and the equivalent for year courses
  • Seventy percent (70%) of the funding will be reserved for students from a previously disadvantaged background who obtained 75% and above average
  • Students who deregister or cancel their registration will be liable to pay back for the canceled or deregistered modules;
  • The funds will be allocated proportionally across Colleges, based on the number of qualifying students
  • The bursary is only awarded to South Africa citizens registered for a formal qualification in any discipline at the University
  • The bursary only covers tuition fees and prescribed textbooks
  • Awards will only be received if there is sufficient funding
  • Students who received the bursary in 2019 do not need to apply. such students must, however, meet the y75% average to be considered for the bursary in 2020

Successful applicants will be notified by whatever means necessary and will be required to sign a bursary acceptance form and On completion of studies and finding employment, the bursary recipients are encouraged to voluntarily make monthly and/or annual donation to the University’s bursary programme to support the next generation of students.
