The award also covers payment of Disability Grants to the Physically Challenged Ghanaian Students in Tertiary Institutions and Long Stay Allowance for Medical Science students in Public Tertiary Institutions in the country.
Application forms are downloaded from the Secretariat’s website (www.scholarships.gov.gh) after a registration code is sent to the various institutions at the beginning of the academic year.
Duly completed application forms must be endorsed by the designated institutional authority and submitted through the Dean of Graduate School to the Scholarships Secretariat.
This facility does not apply to sandwich, part-time, private/fee-paying students in public tertiary institutions.
The documents are vetted by the Secretariat to ensure conformity to eligibility criteria.
For Disability allowance, completed application forms must be accompanied by a medical certificate stating the percentage of disability.
Some months back, qualified students applied for government support/grants and were told the validation and payment to the respective institutions will be done in the second week of January 2021.
This we think sounds true as our team has sighted a document circulating on WhatsApps containing names of some students together with the name of institutions, programmes, Student ID, Amount granted, Region, and Application District.
This document supposedly contains the list of those who have been selected for the first batch of payments for the Ghana Government Scholarship. If you’re one of the applicants for the Ghana government scholarship, you can go through the list to see if you’ve been selected otherwise you have to wait for the second batch of the scholarship as it’s expected.
