Rotational Allowance to be Paid to Nurses and Midwives
Please refer to letter no. MOH/DIR/M/HRHD/10/019 and MOH/DIR/M/HRHD/10/018 dated 28th March 2022 respectively from the Ministry of Health on the above subject (copies attached).
The Ministry of Health is hereby granted approval to enable the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to pay Rotation Allowances to five thousand, two hundred and thirty-nine (5,239) Diploma Nurses and Midwives, and Allied Health Professionals who have completed their licensing exams and have started their one-year-mandatory Rotation with various Health Facilities across the country with effect from 1st October 2021 and have been verified by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
The emoluments of the Interns should be charged against the Compensation of Employees Vote of the Ministry of Health in the 2022 Annual Estimates.
The Chief Director at the Ministry of Health is to ensure that the Health Interns have their documents processed in time and placed on the Mechanized Payroll to enable the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to effect payment of their Rotation Allowances of eight hundred and seventy-one Ghana Cedis (GH¢871.00) per month.
The Controller and Accountant-General are requested to effect the payment of their salaries and make appropriate deductions of Social Security and Income Tax to SNIT and the Domestic Tax Division of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) respectively when the probation period is over.
The effective date of Rotation of the Diploma Nurses and Midwives should not be earlier than 1st October 2021 and terminates at the end of September 2022.
