Application forms for admission to the first BSc Nursing and BSc Midwifery in the University for Development Studies (UDS) (UDS) will be available online from Monday, April 24, 2023, at admissions.uds.edu.gh for holders of the following qualifications.

Four-Year BSc. Nursing and BSc. Midwifery
- 4-Year BSc (Nursing) (for WASSCE holders) Candidates with business subjects are advised not to apply for Nursing. Only Pure Science, Agricultural Science, Arts or Home Economics candidates are eligible to apply
- 4-Year BSc (Midwifery) (for WASSCE holders) Candidates with Business subjects are advised not to apply. Only Pure Science, Agricultural Science, Arts or Home Economics candidates are eligible to apply.

Mature/Top-Up Applicants.
Mature Applicants
a. Bachelor of Science (BSc) Midwifery
Admission / Entry Requirement
Applicants to the 3-year BSc Midwifery programme must be a Registered Nurse with a Diploma (RGN), a State Registered Nurse (SRN) or a Registered Midwife (RM) with a post-basic Certificate and in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana with at least three (3) years post registration work experience. Candidates without three (3) years of work experience are advised not to apply. International applicants must show evidence of registration with their home Professional Regulatory Bodies. Applicants from non-English speaking countries must also show evidence of English Language proficiency.
Options for study: Modular/Sandwich/Weekend
Males are encouraged to apply.

Interviews to be conducted in July 2023.
b. Bachelor of Science (BSc) Nurse Practitioner
Applicants to the 3-year BSc Nurse Practitioner programme must be a Registered Nurse with a Diploma (RGN), a State Registered Nurse (SRN) or a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) with a Diploma and in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana with at least three (3) years post registration work experience. Applicants without three (3) years of work experience are advised not to apply. International applicants must show evidence of registration with their home Professional Regulatory Bodies. Applicants from non-English speaking countries must also show evidence of English Language proficiency.

Top-Up Programme
Bachelor of Science (BSc) General Nursing
Applicants to the 2-year Bachelor of Science (BSc) in General Nursing Programme must be Registered Nurses with a Diploma and in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana with at least three (3) years post-registration work experience. International applicants must show evidence of registration with their home Professional Regulatory Bodies. Applicants from non-English speaking countries must also show evidence of English Language proficiency.
Options for study: Modular/Sandwich/Weekend
Closing date for applications: June 30, 2023
Interviews to be conducted in July 2023.
Bachelor of Science (BSc) Midwifery
Applicants to the 2-year Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Midwifery Programme must be Registered Midwives with a Diploma and in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana with at least three (3) years post-registration work experience. International applicants must show evidence of registration with their home Professional Regulatory Bodies. Bachelor of Science (BSc) Paediatric Nursing
Applicants to the 2-year Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Paediatric Nursing Programme must be Registered Nurses/Midwives with a Diploma or State Registered Nursing Certificate and in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana with at least three (3) years post registration work experience. Applicants without three (3) years of work experience are advised not to apply. International applicants must show evidence of registration with their home Professional Regulatory Bodies. Applicants from non-English speaking countries must also show evidence of English Language proficiency.

ACCESS PROGRAMMES
Access Course Programme at the School of Nursing and Midwifery
Eight weeks Access Course programme is offered to both domestic and international applicants who hold certificates in Enrolled Nursing (Nurse Assistant Clinical [NAC]) and Community Health Nursing (Nurse Assistant Preventive [NAP]) to enable them to enrol into a 3/4-year BSc Nursing or a 4-year BSc Midwifery Modular/Sandwich programme. Prospective applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana and be in good standing. They must have worked for a minimum of three years. International applicants must show evidence of registration with their home Professional Regulatory Bodies. Applicants from non-English speaking countries must also show evidence of English Language proficiency.
Courses to be offered in the Access Course include the following:
- English Language
- Core Mathematics
- Integrated Science
- Introductory General Physics
- Introductory General Chemistry
- Introductory Biology
Admission into BSc Nursing and Midwifery Programmes
Candidates who obtain a pass mark of a minimum of 50% (equivalent to C5) or better in all the above-mentioned courses may be given admission into the BSc Nursing or BSc Midwifery programme. Successful candidates will be admitted to levels 100 and 200 respectively. Males are encouraged to apply.

Period of Access Course
Programme will run from June through July during the 2023/2024 Academic Year for a period of eight (8) weeks. The programme will run during weekends only from Saturday to Sunday.
Location
The programme will be located at the following places: UDS Tamale Campus, Bolgatanga Midwifery Training College, Nursing Training College, Wa, Damongo Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Gushegu Nursing and Midwifery Training College, and Royal Ann College of Health Science, Kumasi (UDS affiliate institution).
