Update on 2024 Registration of BECE Candidates, March 2024: The West African Examinations Council wishes to inform its numerous publics that the Council has opened its portal for the registration of candidates for BECE for School and Private candidates, WASSCE for School candidates and the G/ABCE, 2024.

BECE for School & Private Candidates, 2024
The portal was opened for the registration of candidates on Monday, 11th March 2024, and will be closed on Friday, 19th April 2024. The BECE for School and Private Candidates, 2024, will be administered from Monday, 8th to Friday, 12th July, 2024. All relevant stakeholders are urged to adhere to these timelines as the Council may not be able to accommodate late entries due to test security reasons.
“The Council held briefing sessions for all stakeholders who will be involved in the registration of candidates from Tuesday, 20th to Friday, 23rd February 2024.”.
In view of the introduction of the common core curriculum, School Candidates for BECE will be examined differently from the Private Candidates. While School candidates will be examined based on the common core curriculum, private candidates will be examined on the old syllabus. All private candidates are, therefore, to note and be careful when selecting their subjects.
The fee payable per candidate for the BECE is GH¢214.01.
ELIGIBILITY
- Third-year students in Junior High Schools are eligible for the school candidates examination.
- It is against the rules and regulations of the examination to register candidates in their first or second year and those who are not bona fide students of your school.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
The registration would be carried out according to fo the following timelines:
- Capturing candidates” personal information, subject selection, and pictures: March 11th to April 19, 2024.
- Downloading of CASS software, capturing of scores, and subsequent uploading of data online
- Download of School Choice software, selection of schools, and subsequent uploading of data online
Heads of the school are invited to study the following documents carefully before starting the exercise.
- BECE Registration Procedure Flyer,
- Notes for the Guidance of Heads of School on Registration of Candidates;
- User Manual for BECE-BRS software.
The ‘User Manual’ and ‘Registration Software’ can be downloaded from the registration website https://waecinternetsolution.org using the school’s login and password.
Please note that it is extremely important that the correct subjects are selected during the registration exercise. Finalize your registration data only after all corrections have been made.
