Waec Ghana has released the provisional results for candidates who sat for the 2024 BECE. Days after the release of the results, most candidates have been complaining about the state of their grades.

Some are of the view that the results they printed do not reflect their expected grade. This situation has caused a lot of agitation among these students.

We have seen most students complaining bitterly and hoping that there will be a change in their grades once the final results are released.

BECE 2024 Candidates, See What to Do if You Are Not Happy with Your Results

As a 2024 BECE candidate who is not happy with the results obtained, you can see below what you can do.

Understand that these are Provisional Results

The BECE 2024 results that have been recently released are termed provisional results. This means the final and certified results will later be released by waec. It’s important to know that, some of the grades obtained in your results may or may not change once the final BECE results/certificate is released. So if you believe what you printed is not the true reflection of what you ought to have seen, then wait for the final results, and maybe there will be changes even though is hard to change once the provisional indicates your results.

Make Sure to Check your placement Early

Most students are not happy with their results simply because they may not be able to get into the schools of their choice. In that case, they try not to believe the results they obtained. It’s important to know that most of the results you obtained reflect what you’ve written.

Even in a weird case, there may be some mixed up during the marking or entering of the results by the examiners. As you have already checked your results, you should try and see the good side of it and also make sure you check your placement as early as possible so you’ll be able to make some changes to the school or self-place yourself if you’ve not been placed by the system.

Take That in Good Faith and Learn Hard When you Go to SHS

The Basic school certificate is a stepping stone to higher education. Most students turn to obtain lower/unsatisfied grades for many reasons known to them. Having a lower grade in the BECE exams in most cases doesn’t mean you are a bad student.

Always know that it is better to use your brain to write and get aggregate you can defend than to use a leakage/Apor to obtain a result you can’t defend once you are placed in the Senior High School.

As a candidate who is not satisfied with the grades obtained in the 2024 BECE, all that you need to do for now is to take your grades in good faith and make sure to put in extra work once you’ve been placed in a Senior High School (SHS). Senior High school is where you can excel to the fullest because that’s where the main task lies.

You Can Call For a Remark.

Candidates who still not satisfied with their grades can call for a remark. The remark comes with its cost. Any student who wishes to call for a remark will have to write to waec and pay the fees for a remark. In this case, waec will look for the papers of the said student and give them out for a professional to remark on. Should in case there are mixed up in the grades of the student, (meaning, if the final results change from that of the earlier grade obtained) waec may have to ‘refund’ the student and subsequently correct the results.
