This and many other questions are being asked by most of the JHS 3 students, who also double as the 2024 BECE candidates.

Each day, we receive some queries from these students looking to know the exact date the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination will start.

As an educational portal dedicated to updating students and the general public about the BECE, WASSCE, and other exams in Ghana and beyond, we will clarify things for you as to when the exact date for the 2024 BECE exams.

In our earlier update, we told you the 2024 BECE exam registration will kickstart in July 2024.

The BECE examination, under normal circumstances, is always written in April, May/June. However, because of the pandemic outbreak, the 2021 BECE was shifted to November 2021.

However, with this year’s basic school examination, the BECE returned to July 2024. This was based on the schedule of BECE registration activities for 2024.

Per the timeline given by waec, the downloading of School Choice software, selection of schools, and subsequent uploading of data online will begin in March and end in April 2024.

2024 Registration of BECE Candidates

The registration would be carried out according to fo the following timelines:

Capturing of candidates” personal information, subject selection, and pictures: 11th March–19th April 2024.
Downloading of CASS software, capturing of scores, and subsequent uploading of data online (May–June 2024.
Downloading of School Choice software, selection of schools, and subsequent data uploading online in June -July 2024.

What is the Starting Date For 2024 BECE?
