This and many questions are being asked by most of the JHS 3 students who also double as the 2023 BECE candidates.

Each day, we receive some queries from these students looking to know the exact date the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination will start.

As an educational portal dedicated to updating students and the general public about the BECE, WASSCE, and other exams in Ghana and beyond, we will clarify things for you as to when the exact date for the 2023 BECE exams.

In our earlier update, we gisted you that the 2023 BECE exam registration will kickstart in May 2023.

The BECE examination, under normal circumstances, is always written in April- May/June. But because of the pandemic outbreak, the 2021 BECE was shifted to November 2021.

But with this year’s Basic school examination, the BECE has been returned to September 2023. This was based on the schedule of BECE registration activities for 2023.

Per the timeline given by waec, Downloading of School Choice software, selection of schools, and subsequent uploading of data online will begin in July and end on August 2023.

2023 Registration of BECE Candidates

The registration would be carried out according to fo the following timelines:

Capturing of candidates” personal information, subject selection, and pictures: 3rd May – 10th June 2023.
Downloading of CASS software, capturing of scores, and subsequent uploading of data online – 27th June – 12th August 2023.
Downloading of School Choice software, selection of schools, and subsequent data uploading online July -September 2023.

What is the Starting Date For 2023 BECE?
