GES Update On Mid Semester Break For SHS / SHTS – May 2023: The Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to remind heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools of the midterm break from June 2–9, 2023.

  • While the break should be followed, schools may keep form 3 students in school to prepare for the WASSCE.
  • Preparing for the WASSCE is crucial. Form 3 pupils who stay in school during the midterm break will receive extra support and materials for the exam.
  • Students can catch up on work and relax during the midterm vacation.
  • Students can also visit family and friends.
  • Heads must also accommodate those pupils who want to stay in school.
  • The management wishes students a successful midterm break.

The management wishes to remind all Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools of the scheduled mid-semester break from 2nd to 9th June 2023.

While the break should be observed, individual schools that wish to have their Form 3 students remain in school to continue preparations for the upcoming WASSCE are permitted to do so.

Additionally, Heads are to ensure they accommodate all other students who may wish to remain in school during the period.
