UEW Distance Education Programmes Admission Form 2020/2021

The University of Education, Winneba wishes to inform the general public that application forms for admission to the following programmes by Distance Learning for the 2020/2021 Academic Year will be on sale until the middle of May, 2020 for Mature applicants and June, 2021 for Direct/Post Diploma applicants.

HOW TO APPLY

Application into the Distance Learning Programme for the 2020/2021 Academic Year is either by the ONLINE mode or the Hard Copy Application Forms.

For the online mode, interested applicants should obtain Application Vouchers from the Ghana Post Company Limited or from any of the following Banks: G.C.B. Bank,  Ecobank Ghana Ltd,  Republic Bank, Agricultural Development Bank (ADB),  Zenith Bank,  Fidelity Bank, Unibank and VISA Credit/ Debit Card. Applicants should use the Serial Number and PIN on the voucher to apply at the University’s website: www.uew.edu.gh.

For the hard copy applications, applicants are to purchase a Banker’s Draft in favour of the University of Education, Winneba and present the draft to any of the under-listed Study Centres near them for the Application Forms.

All completed Hard Copy Application forms should be posted to the University through the address below:

The cost of the application form for admission to distance programmes for local applicants are as follows:

Cost of Online Application Forms (Bachelor’s degree and Diploma programmes)

Direct Applicants  – GH¢200.00

All Post-Diploma Applicants – GH¢200.00

International Applicants – $100.00

  1. Post-Diploma Applicants – Gh¢200.00 (Two Hundred Ghana Cedis)
  2. Mature Applicants – Gh¢200.00 (Three Hundred Ghana Cedis – this includes the cost of Study Materials, Preparatory classes, and the entrance exams to be organized by the University)
  3. Post-Graduate Applicants – Gh¢200.00 (Two Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis)
  4. Foreign Applicants and Ghanaian Applicants outside Ghana can purchase a set of Application forms online for US $100.00 (One Hundred Dollars).

HOW TO APPLY

1. Obtain an Application Voucher from the following avenues:

  9. E-Voucher Service (Mobile Money)

Steps to access the E-Voucher service

  1. Dial *887*18# (on all Networks)
  2. Enter UEW
  3. Select preferred Form Type
  4. Authorise Payment
  5. SMS of Voucher is sent to payer after successful payment

2. Visit the University’s website at www.uew.edu.gh. Click on Admissions, and select Apply Online >>>. Log in with your Voucher Serial Number and PIN, fill an appropriate application form and submit online.

 

Cost of Online Application Forms (Bachelor’s degree and Diploma programmes)

Direct Applicants  – GH¢200.00

All Post-Diploma Applicants – GH¢200.00

International Applicants – $100.00

 

Notes:

A. Fee-paying facility is available to applicants who do not meet the competitive selection cut-offs but satisfy the minimum university requirements.

B. Special Education applicants should pass the entrance examination in their second programme before selection.

C. Successful applicants of Ghanaian Language would be given the opportunity to offer a second subject in English/French/Linguistics/German.

D. Physical Education and Sports Coaching applicants should not be more than Forty (40) and Fifty (50) years respectively.

E. Submitting an application with supporting documents is the first step in the selection process. Applicants are entreated to study the admissions brochure carefully before completing an application.

F. All certificates and results other than those from the West African Examinations Council, the Universities and Polytechnics in Ghana and institutions accredited by the National Accreditation Board should be cleared with the National Accreditation Board and the evaluation report submitted to the University. Closing Date for Submission of Application Forms

Direct/Post-Diploma Applicants: Extended to Monday, 30th November, 2020

 

NOTES:

  1. All certificates other than those from the West African Examination Council (WAEC), the Universities in Ghana, and Institutions accredited by the National Accreditation Board should be cleared with the National Accreditation Board and the evaluation report attached to the Application Forms.
  2. For applicants who have changed their names on marital grounds, only those that have been published in the Gazette will be accepted. Applicants should endeavor to attach the relevant pages of the Gazette Publication where their name appears on the application form.
  3. Names should be written in full (i.e. initials are not acceptable). Where applicants have initials or abbreviated names on previous documents, they should swear an affidavit to explain the initials and attach copies to the application form.
  4. Applicants with GCE Advanced Level certificate should note that such certificates should not be more than five (5) years old at the time of applying.
