Ghana Education Service Suspends Double Track System of Education
The double track system was first introduced in 2018 to help manage all the students admitted into SHS of the Free SHS program. This was because, a lot of schools were lacking infrastructures such as dormitories and classrooms for use.

They have to be divided into two, named GREEN and GOLD tracks. The GREEN batch will go to school first followed by the GOLD track and finally, they meet to complete the semester at the same time.
On 24th February, 2021 the Director-General of the Ghana Education stated that, “This year, we don’t intend to do double track for the first years. The double track came in because of the subscription of some schools that people wanted to go into and we felt that we should give them the opportunity to go there.”
The schools have now been provided with the facilities they need and hence, the students to be enrolled in form one, will not run the double track system of education.
