After the release of the new GES academic calendar, most students (SHS Gold & Green Track) needed further explanation regarding their track. These students keep asking questions such as:

Are the academic calendar for single track and double track
Will Gold track and Green track go to school on 7th February?
When will Green track reopen?
When will Gold Track Reopen?

As a matter of fact, these students are confused with the new calendar and need much explanation. In this article, we are going to explain to you to the best of our understanding.

Is the Academic Calendar for Single Track and Double Track?

Yes, the calendar is for both single track and double track. The calendar that has Transitional Calendar (SHS) is for the Double track schools while the other calendar is for single-track schools.

Will Gold track and Green Track go to school on 7th February?

From the new GES calendar, there will not be anything like the gold track and green track anymore. Both tracks are going to school and vacating at the same time. The 1st and 2nd parts mean a semester is divided into two sessions; that is, the first session of the semester and the second session of the semester.

So according to the calendar, all form 2 students (both gold and green) will be in school on 7th Feb and Break on 14th April (That is the first session of the First Semester).

They return from break to complete the first semester from 26th June to 16th July (2nd session of the first semester).

The first session of the second semester begins on 17th July and ends on 26th August (meaning students will break on 26th August). Students returns from break to continue the second semester from 7th October to 16th December.

When Will Green Track Reopen?

According to the calendar, all form 2 students (both gold and green) will reopen on 7th Feb and Break on 14th April for the first session of the First Semester.

When Will Gold Track Reopen?

All gold track students are to reopen on the 7th of February 2022 and also break on 14th April 2022 for the first semester of the term.
