How To Re-Register Vodafone SIM Card Yourself Using Mobile Phone: The Minister of Communication, Ursula Owusu Ekuful tweeted that ”Barring any unforeseen eventualities, SIM Registration will begin on 1st October 2021 for a six (6) month period and end on 31st March 2022. Any sim which is not registered at the end of this exercise will be blocked. #UrsulaSpeaks”

This means that in order to continue using and maintaining your present SIM card, you must re-register it within the Minister’s specified time frame.

Enter Surname

Enter First Name(s)

Enter Date of Birth (Format: DDMMYYYY)

Select Sex

Confirm Details

Submit Details Provided After Confirmation

Note:

1. If successful, you will get a confirmation message with a unique code
2. If unsuccessful due to wrong details, you have 3 attempts to answer security questions
3. If unsuccessful due to verification failure at the National Identification Authority (NCA), you will be informed to contact the NIA.

Only a person’s National ID card – the Ghana card – can be used to register SIM cards of Ghanaians, foreign residents, and foreigners staying in Ghana for more than 90 days.

Ghanaians who still want to obtain a Ghana Card can do so for free starting in July by visiting any National Identification Authority (NIA) office in the country.

This action is part of a plan to strengthen Ghana’s digital economy by creating unique IDs and storing them in the country’s database, thereby reducing the prevalence of fraudulent digital activities.
