The NABCO trainee’s stipends for March 2021 which was expected to be paid in the first two weeks of April 2021 haven’t been paid as of 3rd May 2021.

This according to some reports was a result of the late release of funds by the ministry. Trainees who have yearned for the money for the past two months have now lost hope.

But a validation circular sighted by our team indicated that, the March 2021 Trainees Stipends payment shall be carried out in this first week of May 2021 and that April 2021 payment would be done based on the availability of funds and eligibility verifications.

Taking into consideration the content of this circular, we can then say that trainees should expect their March 2021 stipends to be paid from today May 4th to Friday 7th May 2021.

Meanwhile, April Validation is also scheduled to begin on the 4th of May 2021 and end on the 11th May 2021. So trainees should expect their payment history status for April 2021 to be either “Not Validated By District or Payment Validated By District but not Approved By Regional” within these said dates.

All-District and Regional coordinators have been cautioned to exercise due diligence in validating trainees.

“We might not have the necessary attention on issues of non validation by Districts, nonapprovals by Regions, etc before processing the data for payment. So Kindly avoid unnecessary mistakes, oversights, “mistakenly” errors, etc at these times. Be bold to validate “Not Eligible” with a valid reason where appropriate.”

What should you do as a trainee??

As a trainee, you are also advised to always check your NABCO portal for payment validation history. This will help you to easily draw the attention of your coordinator for any mistake that may have occurred during the validation.

Any trainee who still has his April Validation status as “Not Validated by district or Validated by District but not approve by regional” after 10th May 2021, should immediately contact his Coordinator for a correction.
