Reopening and Vacation Dates For Senior High Schools

The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has adjusted the academic calendar and dates for senior high schools (SHS) for the 2024/2025 academic year. It wishes to inform all Heads of Schools to take note and communicate with the the same staff, students, and parents.

Below are the reopening and vacation dates for the various cohorts of students.

Reopening and Vacation Dates for Senior High Schools (2024/2025)

Single Track Schools:

Reopening Date:
- 30th October 2024 for all Forms (1, 2, and 3).
Break/Vacation Dates:
- Christmas Break: 20th December 2024 – 2nd January 2025.
- Eligible Voters Break: 5th December 2024 – 9th December 2024.
- Mid-Year Break: 30th March 2025 – 5th March 2025.
- End of Academic Year: 29th August 2025.

Transitional Schools:

Reopening Date:
- 30th October 2024 for all Forms (1, 2, and 3).
Break/Vacation Dates:
- Christmas Break: 20th December 2024 – 2nd January 2025.
- Eligible Voters Break: 5th December 2024 – 9th December 2024.
- Form 3 Vacation (End of Academic Year): 6th March 2024.
- Form 1 and Form 2 Mid-Year Break: 5th December 2024 – 9th February 2025.
- End of Academic Year for Form 1 and Form 2:
  - Form 1: 30th August 2025.
  - Form 2: 29th July 2025.
