Regional Directors are directed in this letter to ensure that Heads of Schools for Basic and Second Cycle Schools in their respective regions take note of the provisions in the attached calendar and comply accordingly to facilitate a smooth running of the academic year.
The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes all staff a successful and productive 2023–2024.

The academic calendar is an essential component of the education system, providing a roadmap for students and teachers and outlining key dates.
Delays in its release have caused confusion in recent years, but the GES and Ministry have worked together to resolve these issues by releasing the New Calendar for 2023-2024.
The announcement of the new academic calendar is expected to pave the way for the release of 2024 Senior High School placements.
