New Update on Opening of School Selection Portal for BECE 2023 School & Private Candidates:

The Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) commerce the sensitization and education on this year’s guidelines for school selection into Senior High Schools on Friday 18th August 2023.

Management further informs stakeholders that the selection of schools is scheduled from 3rd October to 24 October 2023.

Now the the Ghana Education Service wishes to inform you that the School Selection Portal was opened by the West African Examinations Council (WAC) for both BECE 2023 Schools and Private Candidates to enable them to select their schools online for 2023 placement.

The exercise commences from 3rd to 24th October 2023.

Private BECE Candidates are to visit https://www.waecinternetsolution.org to select their Second Cycle Schools using their Index Number and Date of Birth as Login ID and Password respectively.

This exercise will take place in all the respective Regional and district Education Directorates and schools

Parents and guardians are particularly advised to take a keen interest in the selection of school processes to ensure a smooth Placement this year.

Again, there would be an opportunity for candidates to text a short code and confirm their school choices before the actual Placement is done. Details of the shortcode will be made available in due course.

In order to do the exercise faster and more efficiently, Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education are to form teams of ICT Teachers/Data Entry Officers to support the Examination Coordinators and Headteachers in doing the entries of the candidates’ choices.

This will help avoid errors in the entries from the schools. Candidates and parents/guardians are to be invited to confirm the correctness of their choices before finalization.

By this update, Regional Directors are kindly requested to communicate this information to the Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education to ensure effective supervision and monitoring for the successful completion of the exercise within the stipulated time.
