SHS Single-Track Official Academic Calendar For 2023 (Updated): The Ghana Education Service (GES) Announces to the general public particularly parents, teachers, and pupils/students the approved SHS Single-Track Official Academic Calendar by the Hon. Minister for Education upon the recommendation of the Ministerial Committee on School s Calendar is as follows:

This calendar consists of the Reopening date, Vacation date, Mid Semester break as well as other breaks.

 

Due to the start of the calendar in January 2023, SHS 3 cannot enjoy a prolonged break. This is to allow SHS 1 and SHS 2 to be in school as well.

SHS Single-Track Official Academic Calendar For 2023 (Updated)

This means that the calendar will have to be fine-tuned so that SHS 3 students can attend class continuously from January 2023 through the end of September 2023, when the WASSCE ends.

In the transitional option, two (2) of the three (3) year groups must be in school at a given time.

In addition, the Colleges of Education have received an increase in their schools’ enrolment as a result of the Free Senior High School programme which required short-term solutions.

Finally, the 2023 calendar ensures that teachers get a break.
