See, Why All NABCO Trainees Must Vote for The NPP Government
Over the years, graduates who have finished their tertiary education come back to sit at home jobless and idle. Most of them become frustrated to the extent that, they sometimes curse their parents and grandparents for not being rich. Sounds funny right? Yeah, that’s the reality.

Some graduates become depressed over lack of jobs/initiatives that can get them something to cater to themselves after completing their NSS. This has been the plight of most Ghanian youths for several years and has even dragged some to commit vices in the society.
The NPP government, during its 2016 campaign manifestoes, promised to provide jobs and also rolled out initiatives that will help the youth to acquire job experience and also trained them to have entrepreneurial skills above all get some monthly stipends to keep them going.
Now, Ghanaians have given them the mandate to rule, and thankfully almost all their promises have come to pass. Today, under the NPP government, there are a lot of initiatives that have been rolled out for the youth.
These initiatives have helped shapen the lives of many Ghanaian youths. Among them is the brilliant and well planned Nation-builders corp programme (NABCO).
The Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) is an NPP government flagship programme to address graduate unemployment to solve social problems. The focus of the initiative was to help in solving public service delivery in health, education, agriculture, technology, governance, and drive revenue mobilization and collection.
Its objectives are to Provide temporary employment, Improve skills and employability, Improve public service delivery, Improve revenue mobilization, Improve access to basic public services. Under the NABCO programme, graduates get to acquire job skills and entrepreneurial know-how with a monthly stipend of GHS 700.
The programme has been running for two years now, and the results or outcome can easily be seen on the beneficiaries of the NABCO flagship programme.
Through NABCO, trainees have started their businesses and established themselves with the monthly stipends they received and more to the point gained some employability skills.
After two years of implementation of the NABCO programme, Time has come for Ghana to go for a poll to elect the leaders who will lead the country for another 4 years.
When there is a national election, the ball always rolled between the two giant parties in ghana, NPP- NDC.
John C. Maxwell once said, “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way”. The person you choose to lead you today will determine how your future will look like.
Even though the NABCO initiatives comprise of trainees with a divergent political mindset, the time has come for us to put out our differences and look beyond politics so we can get what’s best for our future.
Over the years we’ve tried and tested these two parties to give us jobs or something close to that, and the only party that seems to care much to our calling is the NPP. Hence the reason we should retain them for another 4 years.
In this discussion, I am going to list out three reasons why all NABCO trainees must Vote for the NPP government if we want to continue enjoying the benefits from the NABCO Programme and beyond. See below the 3 reasons:

Safeguard NABCO
The NPP government mostly is known for the creation of jobs and rolling out of new initiatives that create more jobs for the youth. In the history of Ghana, it always said that, when Npp comes to power, they try to let everyone have a sense of belongingness. Graduates who have finished their tertiary education get something doing that earns them living from the NPP government.
In 2006, the NPP government brings out the Youth employment program to creates about 155,000 jobs for Ghanaian youths. The YEA focuses on empowering and equipping the youth with technological know-how, industrial skills, appropriate work ethics, and individual initiative to enhance their productivity.
The programme runs for a good 2 and a half years without any problem. Beneficiaries were being paid and equipped with the needed skills that commensurate to the objective of the programme.
In 2008, when the NPP government was out of power and taken over by their political opponents, those initiatives became inactive and subsequently dead. The people who have been trusted to manage the YEA programmes have no much knowledge about the programme and therefore could not manage the programme as it was designed by the NPP government.
As NABCO beneficiaries, once we make a mistake and the NPP government, who are the brains behind the NABCO initiatives goes out of power, then our favorite NABCO programme is going to be scrap out and subsequently bring us back to our earlier unemployment status.
Get the Chance to be Permanently Employed
Every NABCO trainee has a contract letter of engagement. In the contract letter, trainees were told that the contract is going to last for 3 good years, after which some trainees will be retained in their various departments once they proved to be relevant to the organization.
Two years down the line, the government has indeed seen the immerse contribution of NABCO trainees to the Nation-building and has in his state address to the nation call on all government offices to give preference to NABCO trainees when there are vacancies in their various departments for employment.
This call to action by the president shows his commitment to the NABCO trainees. It shows that the president is a listening president and when given the mandate to rule again, will have no option than to make all trainees permanent workers at their various institutions.
Just recently, all NABCO trainees have been rallying over with their Mother association leaders (NABTAG), to petition the president for permanent employment. The petition which has since been submitted to the office of the president through the Ashanti regional minister is yet to get an official response from the presidency.
As a listening government, we are of the strong belief that he will surely give positive feedback to the NABTAG petition letter and hence the decision to make all trainees permanent employees at their various institutions. But all this will be possible if and only if all trainees vote for the president and the NPP government to retain power come December 7th, 2020.
Show Appreciation to The President
There is a saying by Dalai Lama “The roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness.” We must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them. When you feel extremely thankful for someone, translating your gratitude into words can be difficult. How can you express such a deep feeling with only a sentence or two?
The only way to express your gratitude to a person and make him or her realized you really mean what you’re saying is by showing it through your action – Actions speak louder than words.
For several years, we were left out as unemployed graduates making our lives looking miserably. But when the NPP government led by his excellency Nana Akofu Addo came to power, our hopes were revived through the Nation-builders corps and other flagship programmes introduced by the current government.
So as NABCO trainees the only way we can show our sincere appreciation to the current president of ghana and its governance and make them feel our gratitude towards them is by voting the NPP government to retain power comes December 2020. I leave you with our shortest and favorite SHS quotes “A word to the wise is sufficient.” Peace Out
