Why The Delayed in Nabco Stipend for October and November 2020

The Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) programme is a Government of Ghana initiative to address graduate unemployment to solve social problems. The focus of the initiative will be solving public service delivery in health, education, agriculture, technology, governance, and drive revenue mobilization and collection by equipping NABCO Trainees with the skills needed for the job market.

At the implementation stage of the NABCO programme, Selected applicants were told in their letter of engagement that, they will be placed on a six(6) month probation and for that matter, any trainee who is found not serious about the work and also violate some of the NABCO KPI, will be removed from the programme.

On October 17, 2019, NABCO celebrated its first year anniversary and in other, to begin with, its second phase (second year), it deems it an honor to re-issue all trainees who are currently on the programme a new letter of engagement. This new letter will ensure that NABCO has a list of all the trainees who are actively engaged and are punctual at work. So in doing that, each District Coordinator is made to provide the lists of all trainees who are currently on the proramme. This list includes:

Name of a trainee, Phone Number, Reference Number, Date of Birth, Placed Institution, Name of Supervisor, and contact of the supervisor. The details which have been provided by the District Coordinators are what NABCO is going to use to pay OCTOBER Stipends and also Use it to give each trainee found on the list the new engagement letter.

The list is also to help solve the issues of inter-district transfers. Some trainees have been transferred from one district to another within their respective regions and for that matter, the old district was still in control of the validation of such trainees. In other to make sure all the trainees are captured in their new District, NABCO made each coordinator provide the new list so they can easily work on the data.

Now, after each coordinator has submitted their Data, NABCO will have to analyze and validate those data provided by the district coordinators to make sure they correspond with what they already had with them before payment is effected.

Why Did Nabco Pay Some District And Left Others?

Yes, as most of you are aware, some districts have been paid October stipends and others are yet to be paid. This we think is because NABCO has finished Validating those District’ data. As we made mention earlier when District data is sent to the headquarters, NABCO will have to Analyze those Data and validate it. So after successfully validating the data, such district trainees will be paid with the exception of trainees under investigation. These trainees who are under investigation are either with NSS or their name has already been paid with a different e-zwich card.

When Should We Expect Our Stipends for October and November?

If your district has not been paid yet, then you will have to exercise patience as the NABCO team is working tiresomely to get all data to validate and paid in time. As for October stipends, a source tells us that, each district will be cleared by the 24th of December. So if you’ve not been paid yet, then all you need to do is to give NABCO sometimes as they work on your District data and pay.

My District Has Been Paid But I didn’t Get Mine.

There are instances where some districts are paid but some trainees didn’t get theirs. When this happens, there may be two reasons for that. Either you are on the second batch of payment, or you are under investigation/Hot Card. If you happen to be in the second batch of payment, you’ll not be contacted by your District coordinator. But should in case you happen to be under investigation/hot card, you will be contacted to either resubmit a new e-Zwich card or call for further clarification. You can visit your Nabco District office to find out if your name is brought to them for some reason.

When Will they Pay the November Stipend?

November stipend according to some sources will be paid a week after NABCO has cleared October outstanding. So if this is the case, we can say November payment will start to drop from 24th to 31 December.

The NABCO Secretariat is working hard to make sure they pay each trainee in time and please all you need to do is exercise some patience and give them time to work on the data and you shall be paid as and when your district data is validated.
