Will NABCO Open Application for 2021 New Trainees? See Details Below

Over the year, most people have been looking for answers to the above question. Fresh graduates and individuals who have not had the opportunity to apply for the NABCO programme during the last application wanted to know if the NABCO application portal will be open for new applicants.

Because of the high demand for the answers to this question, some blogs, and other news portals earlier reported that, the NABCO new application portal has been open and that individuals interested in applying can do so.

Subsequently, the NABCO secretariate came out with an official statement debunking that reportage and that, if the portal is open for new applicants, they will publish it on the NABCO homepage or Through their social media pages.

Now, the question still remains, will NABCO ever open the New application for new trainees?

This question we are going to answer in this article.

We are going to base our analysis on the NABCO letter of engagement, total trainees on the waiting list and the quest for the current trainees to be made permanent staff at their current MIPs organization/institutions.

Letter of Engagement

In the letter of engagement signed by the current NABCO trainees, it was agreed that the contract is going to last for 3 years. That, after the three years of the contract, trainees will be exited from the programme given way to fresh trainees.

What this means is that the current NABCO trainees will have to finish and exited the program before the new applications can be open.

Trainees on Pending

Also, from the Data gathered concerning the NABCO programme, Most people who have applied for the NABCO programme are still on the Pending list.

These pending trainees are those who have not done/finish their National service scheme (NSS) or not met the requirement for selection during the first batch of applications.

With the huge number of trainees still on the pending list, NABCO may not open the portal for the new application, but rather will have to release these pending trainees to occupy the empty vacancies should the need arise.

Permanent Jobs

Finally, NABCO trainees who are currently enjoying the programme are now fighting for a permanent job. That’s they are calling the government to make them permanent staff in their various institutions.

If that should happen, there will not be vacant for new trainees, hence the NABCO secretariat can not employ/open the portal for new applications.

Way Forward

From the above analysis, one can see that the possibility for the NABCO secretariat to open a new application is too low.

The new application can only be open if the secretariat decides to overlook those on the pending list by asking them to reapply if there is a need.

But as we know, we are in Ghana where anything can be possible. NABCO can decide to open a new application for fresh graduates to come and occupy the empty vacancies at any given time.
