NABCO trainees according to their letter of engagement so far have less than two months to end the contract. From the employment contract letter, The programme is scheduled to end in October 2021. This means, after October 2021, no current NABCO trainee is expected to remain in the programme.

As a result, the management of NABCO somewhere in November 2020 opened the CPTP for all eligible trainees to login and choose their preferred exit pathway plans.

9 months after the closure of the CPTP, trainees have been wondering if they will be absorbed as permanent workers at their current place of work as the contract is coming to an end.

Series of petitions have been written by the various NABCO leadership groups to the president for consideration into the permanent job.

Today 10th August 2021 in a radio interview on Radio BAR 93.5mhz, President Nana Akufo Addo in his tour to the Bono Region has said, the Nation Builders Corps NABCo trainees under 3-year contract who are bringing their service to an end in October are in transition to paved way for new entrants.

According to him a questionnaire requesting a permanent position for the NABCo personnel has a number of 73,844 trainees willing to be fixed in the public sector out of the 92,000 personnel employed in the various modules under NABCo.

He added that the unemployment rate is very worrying and the current NABCo personnel will be ending their job to help allow new graduates to have the opportunity to be in the program.

He reiterated that the various modules will absorb the trainees into permanent employment, adding that Educate Ghana will employ 25,000 personnel, Digital Ghana will take 15,000, Enterprise Ghana will absorb 5,500, Heal Ghana will employ 2,900 among the rest.

He, therefore, urged the trainees to take whatever processes they are going through very seriously in their transition period as they bring their 3-year NABCo Service to an end in October 2021.
