NABCO: How To Write Core Experiences & Career Expectation Statement for Permanent Job Application

The portal has 8 good steps that each NABCO trainees will be required to complete before submitting their application.
These steps include: Update profile, Select career pathway, Select Desired sector under career pathway, Desired sector category, curriculum vitae, core experience, and career expectation, career interest, and statement, provide certified copies of certificates and review & submit.
Each of these steps is so important that every trainee who is looking to be selected for a permanent job, Entrepreneurship, or further learning must fill them very well.
Most of the steps are self-explanatory while others need some further explanation. In this article, we are going to elaborate more on one of the eight steps. Thus core experience and career expectation.
When you take a look at the career pathway transition portal, the core experience, and career expectation is found under the 5th steps. In that step, trainees are asked to:
- State what you have done in the past 3 years. (In terms of profession/occupation)
- What have you achieved in terms of additional learning, skills development, monitoring & coaching, workplace contribution, and recognition
These two requirements are very crucial because it tells NABCO your level of interest and commitment to work during the programme. In filling this section of the form, trainees must be straightforward and write concise answers.

In answering this section you, NABCO is requiring you to tell them what you’ve done during your stay at the placed institution, both on job and off-job activities.
Sample Response:
As a trainee placed in the Ghana Education Service, I was posted to the classroom as a subject teacher. During my stay in the school, with the help of my headmaster and co-teachers, I was able to deliver my lessons as required of me. I also had the opportunity to attend career development lectures and seminars organized by GES, DLA, and other relevant workshops which have helped in my further understanding of the teaching field. It’s of much interest that, I’ve come to love the teaching profession after being placed in the classroom as a subject teacher under the Nation Builders Corps.
What have you achieved in terms of additional learning, skills development, monitoring & coaching, workplace contribution, and recognition:
Here you’re required to state further, the things you’ve achieved during your stay at the placed institution which adds value to yourself and the institution in general.

During the course of the Programme, NABCO Skills and Talent Academy (NSTA) was introduced by NABCO as a platform for acquiring new skills and talent by all trainees.
As a trainee, I cease the chance and participated in the NSTA program, in which I was able to acquire additional knowledge in Android development, Big data analysis, and Educational Leadership. This has given me new skills to be able to compete in the job market.
Also, as a Classroom teacher, Being monitored by my CS and HeadTeacher, I was given the right coaching and taught how to manage humans (Students) and the preparation of lesson notes aid in teaching and learning. All these i think will help me in my future career.
Also as a NABCO trainee in the school, I was able to introduce an extra teaching session for the final year students in the school to help them in their preparation for the basic school certificate examination.
